Thank You!!!

Well, we did it! Project 30-90 has come and gone, and despite a venue change 7 days prior to the show and a torrential monsoon on the day of show, we still managed to pull off a nearly flawless production. We had our hiccups, but all in all we are pleased with the show we delivered: a first-class production powered totally on renewable energy with a full slate of environmentally conscious initiatives to make the event as carbon-free as possible. Doing something like this takes the efforts of many, so my Thank You list is long. I’ll certainly forget someone, and if I do please forgive my slight due to lack of sleep. Without further ado, the big Thank You goes to:

Re the Parking
A lot of people complained (and rightly so) at the $20 fee charged for parking in the lot immediately adjacent to the festival grounds. It’s important to us to let you all know that neither Project 30-90 or Blaine Kern’s Mardi Gras World had anything to do with the parking. The lot is owned by the Convention Center and operated by Central Parking. Any other day of the year, parking is $5 or $10. Seems as though someone decided it would be a good idea to either lock the gate altogether or price gauge our fans. Whatever the reasoning, certainly not a good thing to do. No one associated with the festival made one dime off the parking, and we were just as upset about this ridiculous price as you were.
A special thanks to the Downtown Development District of New Orleans

We like to take this opportunity to say thanks to the DDD for all their help and support along the way. If you are not familiar with the Downtown Development District, here your chance to learn more...visit DDD online

The Downtown Development District of New Orleans (DDD) was created by the Louisiana Legislature in 1974 as the nation's first assessment-based business improvement district (BID) to provide enhanced services in economic development, cleaning and safety. The DDD services the area bounded by Iberville Street, the Pontchartrain Expressway, Claiborne Avenue and the Mississippi River. The DDD is governed by an 11-member Board of Commissioners who represent a cross section of the diverse Downtown community. Appointed by local elected officials, our commissioners help guide the policies and programs of the DDD.

Their mission
To drive the development of Downtown New Orleans and be the catalyst for a prosperous, stimulating, innovative heart of the Crescent City.
