Project 30-90 Festival Info |
Where does project 30-90 take place? |
New (and better) festival location
Only steps from the old location but with a much better view, breeze and vibe!
The event will be held in the New RiverCity Plaza at
Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World (on the east bank!), right on the edge of
the Mississippi River just behind the old site. (See map below)...
We love the space, and think you will too. All day and night you'll get a
wonderful view and breeze from the river, and the visual of the GNO bridge
staring down on us will be amazing. |

Where did the name Project 30-90 come from? |
Project 30-90 was the end result of hours and hours of diligent market research, brainstorming, therapy and meetings on synergy and search engine optimization. Seriously, we just like the name. Its based on the latitude and longitude our hometown , New Orleans - 30.2 degrees North latitude, 90.1 degrees East longitude . |
Who produces Project 30-90? |
Project 30-90 is produced by Don Kelly Productions, a New Orleans based event-production company that believes in sustainability and a double bottom line. We are live music fans who combine artists, atmosphere and emotion to produce events that are indelibly etched on our guests’ minds. We don’t want you to simply have fun at a dk event – we want you to be amazed that festivals can be run on alternative power, can have little carbon footprint, and still rock. What was the festival site before Project 30-90? |
This space was originally set to be the location for construction of Phase IV of the Morial Convention Center. Test pilings on the site were driven into the ground on August 20, 2005, to evaluate ground settling and sinkage in the subsurface. In fact, depending on what internet mapping service you use, photographs of the pilings at varying heights are visible. Sadly, Hurricane Katrina hit a mere nine days later and the put an indefinite hold on construction of a new wing of the Convention Center. Since that time, the site has sat by with little activity. Thankfully, when we approached the Convention Center with this idea for a sustainable music festival, they were just crazy enough to like the plan and the rest is history. |
